Katherine Sudol, Director
|
|
|
|
|
Miss Katie Sudol has been working in the child care industry for over fifteen years. She began at the University of Rhode Island Kingston where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies. While at college, Miss Katie became a teacher assistant in a local high quality NAEYC accredited preschool. At that preschool, she rose to afternoon supervisor within a year and upon graduation became a lead teacher in their toddler classroom. Miss Katie joined the Hamlet team in September 2000 as an assistant director and lead teacher in the Busy Bee Room. She became director in 2002 and earned her Early Childhood Education teaching certificate to become the head teacher in the center. She opened the full day kindergarten in September 2004 in response to the growing need. Miss Katie recently achieved her Master’s Degree from Johnson and Wales University in Early Childhood Administration and Leadership.

Sharon Descoteaux, Lead Teacher

|
|
Miss Sharon Descoteaux has been a valuable team member since 1997 working as a teacher assistant in the three year old room. She has seen the center undergo many changes throughout her years and has been proud to be part of the ongoing improvements. Her dedication has resulted in promotions to the lead teacher and afternoon supervisor. Miss Sharon received her Child Development Associate Certificate from the National Association for the Education of the Young Children and completed the CCRI Child Care Apprentice Program in 2007. She worked very hard to achieve this and we are very proud and happy for her.

Judith Krupka, Lead Teacher

Miss Judith Krupka has been a proud member of Hamlet Learning Center staff since 2001. She began as a teacher assistant to Miss Katie in the five year old room and worked tirelessly to create and head our full day kindergarten program. The program is a huge success with individual attention and lesson planning each child receives. Miss Judy received her Associate’s Degree in General Studies from the Community College of Rhode Island and is currently pursuing a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island. Miss Judy also serves as the morning supervisor at the center.

Erin Descoteaux, Teacher Assistant

|
Miss Erin Descoteaux is a graduate of Woonsocket High School and is currently pursuing her Child Development Associate Certificate through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She is also enrolled at the Community College of Rhode Island in the teacher assistant Apprentice Program. Thanks to her mom, Miss Sharon, Miss Erin has been a member of the Hamlet team for over four years. She began as a volunteer during high school and became an active member of the staff immediately on her eighteenth birthday! Miss Erin brings with her a strong knowledge of working with children with special needs an a talent for being and effective team member and wonderfully caring child care worker!

Anne Mooney, Teacher Assistant

Miss Anne Mooney is celebrating her first anniversary with Hamlet Learning Center in October 2008 as a teacher assistant. Prior to receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education and Psychology at Salve Regina College, Miss Anne received her Teacher Assistant Certificate, as well as completing the Infant Toddler Academy. She has worked as a Head Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher and Teacher Assistant. Miss Anne is a nurturing and reflective caregiver and Hamlet Learning Center is proud to value her natural abilities with young children.

Christina Aiudi, Teacher Assistant

|
Miss Christina Aiudi will celebrate her first anniversary with Hamlet Learning Center in November 2008. After attending Mount Saint Charles Academy, Miss Christina began her journey towards a degree in Elementary Education which she continues to pursue at Rhode Island College. In her experience, Miss Christina has also worked in other early childhood centers, as well as tutoring within the Providence School System. Hamlet Learning Center is pleased that Miss Christina is broadening her knowledge of school age children within our program and we value her dedication, kindness and consideration for young children.
